The QSE Mag Series from GPI/Flomec is a dependable highly accurate electromagnetic Flowmeter designed for flow and usage monitoring in commercial applications. The Noryl® housing and flow tube offer a lightweight, easy-to-install Mag Meter that is resistant to heat (210°F / 99°C) and compatible with many water-based liquid solutions.The QSE Mag Meter monitors flow rate and total flow in a wide variety of applications including: HVAC, Turf/ Irrigation and other water reclamation applications.

Principle of Operation...
Did you know... Faraday's Law of Magnetic Induction Faraday's Law of Electromagnetic Induction is the operating principle on which the QSE series meters are based. Faraday's Law (paraphrased) states that a voltage will be induced in a conductor when it passes through a magnetic field, and the induced voltage will be directly proportional to the velocity of the conductor passing through that magnetic field. In this case, flowing liquid is the conductor and the QSE meter creates the magnetic field.
The velocity of the flowing liquid, which must pass through the magnetic field, is the velocity of the conductor. A voltage is induced in the conductive liquid as it passes through the magnetic field. By placing electrodes in calculated locations on the flow tube of the meter, it is possible to accurately measure the induced voltage, thus determining the corresponding velocity and volumetric flow of the liquid.
